History of the IHA
The IHA is a sport integration and educationally programm. It was founded by Thomas Seywald Ph. D. together with his friend Kim S. Perepeluk, whose excellent contacts enabled the initiative to be realized.
The IHA has existed for the last couple of years and has had a constant increase of interest. With the help of private sponsors and the goverments the IHA is experiencing an unexpected boom theese years from the whole of Europe, USA and Canada.
The registrations in the last few years has consistently risen, and girls from European countries as well as from overseas are interested in the IHA as a great possibility of uniting athletics and education.
There have been Ice Hockey players interested from: Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia, Hungary, Italy, Austria, Canada and USA.
Unfortunately, since it was not possible, due to financial and athletic reasons, to satisfy all prospective customers, the IHA decided to move the program to next step and allow other countries and associations to be part of the initiative of the IHA.
The IHA aims to strive for school/student exchanges with schools and universities from throughout Europe and abroad to enable a cultural and sporting exchange program.
A further focal point is the continuation of basic (school) and higher education at university alongside with playing ice-hockey at national and international levels in the world of womens hockey.
In the near to mid future the IHA should be opened to accommodate other forms of sport. The IHA wants to motivate other countries within the realm of their possibilities to enable cooperation within short distances and guarantee the best possible rate of recognition allowing athletes from throughout Europe and overseas to enjoy the principles and aims of the IHA.
